Lyndsey Hopwood – UK Partner & Game Manager

1. 1. What does your job involve?

   “My role is UK Partnership & Games manager, I look after our partnerships with 8 UK football clubs, UFC Picks, FightPicks and have just finished running games for one of the Learfield Colleges in the US. My job is to ensure games are available on the app. I work with our partners to ensure they have everything they need from us to promote their game enabling their fans the best experience.”

   1. What kind of experience did you require?

   “To do my role I need to be organised, methodical and have a good understanding of sports, or be adaptable to learning about a new sport, quickly! Also to be personable and a good relationship builder.”

   1. Advice for women looking to work in the industry?

   “I think for women wanting to work in this industry, the world is your oyster. I meet more and more women working in clubs than ever before so if you’re reading this and think the industry is male dominated and not for you, think again.”

   1. Favourite iconic female sports star?

   “Nicola Adams, she is someone I am inspired by. She isn’t just a great boxer, but she is a great person. Her determination to succeed in and out of the ring just shows how far women have come in sports.”

   1. One word to describe Low6?

   “Progressive.”

Eleanor Simeonov – Graphic Designer

1. What does your job involve?

“Creating promotional material for the apps Low6 builds and runs. My main focus is on producing video promos. In addition to this I’m involved in most aspects of design at Low6, from creating avatars for games to posters in stadiums.”

1. What kind of experience did you require?

“For my role you need a strong understanding of after effects, photoshop and illustrator with an understanding of the wider Adobe Creative apps being an added bonus. You need to be able to work to tight deadlines and enjoy a fast paced environment. Be creative, keep up with the latest design trends and work well with the rest of the marketing team to produce the best content.”

1. Advice for young women looking to work in the industry?

“The more you do, the better you get. So when you’re first starting out, and perhaps you’re not getting the most exciting projects yet, come up with your own briefs; practice, experiment and learn!”

1. Favourite iconic female sports star and why?

“Sky Brown, the youngest professional skateboarder at just 13. I think she’s a real inspiration to have achieved so much at such a young age.”

1. One word to describe Low6?

“Ambitious.”

Lillie Hall – Events Manager

1. What does your job involve?

“My role is Events Manager for Ultimate Fan Live. I plan, execute and review events carried out by ultimate fan live. I work with our clients to ensure we produce the best possible activations to increase their fan engagement.”

1. What kind of experience did you require?

“I had recently graduated from university, so had very little office experience. Whilst at uni, I spent a lot of time volunteering within the events industry, and looking for experience in different ways.”

1. Advice for young women looking to work in the industry?

“Put yourself out there. Every opportunity you can apply yourself to, you will learn something, even if it is what you don’t want to do within your industry.”

1. Favourite iconic female sports star and why?

“My favourite female sports star is Jessica Ennis. I thought she was a superstar when I grew up.”

1. One word to describe Low6?

“Growth.”

Rachel Townsend – Accounts Assistant

1. What does your job involve?

“My role is to support all the business in terms of the accounting function. This is varied ranging from ledger accounts, expenses, payroll, payments & project work meaning that I work with other departments.”

1. What kind of experience did you require?

“Excellent organisational and time management skills as this is a fast-paced environment with no two days being the same. Due to interacting with all departments you need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.”

1. Advice for women looking to work in the industry?

“Never say never, you can achieve anything you want to with the right positive attitude. Believe in yourself & you will be amazed at what you can achieve.”

1. Favourite iconic female sport star and why?

“Tanni Grey-Thompson, one of the greatest paralympic athletes with a career spanning many years & achieving so much, never let a disability stop you from achieving your dream.”

“Exciting.”

Tori Fogg – Talent Development Manager

1. What does your job involve?

“My role is to support all the business with talent acquisition and facilitating L&D whilst building and maintaining great relationships with all employees and stakeholders of all levels. This ranges from initial screening interviews, candidate sourcing, candidate lifecycle, salary benchmarking, market trends, owning the talent process, PSL management etc.”

1. What kind of experience did you require?

“Excellent industry knowledge and technology industry experience, good IT skills and excellent communication skills.”

1. Advice for women looking to work in the industry?

“Take the risk & know your worth. Don’t be afraid to input your ideas and be confident in your abilities.”

1. Favourite iconic female sport star and why?

“Valentina Shevchenko, one of the Top 10 UFC female fighters. She has so much drive and strength & is an absolute savage in the ring!”

1. One word to describe Low6?

“Ambitious.”

Deanna Jennings – HR Manager

1. What does your job involve?

“I am the HR Manager at Low6, my job is to manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle and assist the business with delivering people-related processes. A key aspect of my role is to develop and drive our culture ensuring our employees are engaged and given the tools they need to succeed.”

1. What kind of experience did you require?

“You need to be organised, flexible in your approach to work (no 2 days are the same!) and have a good understanding of people.

“I am currently working towards my Level 3 Certificate in HR Support.”

1. Advice for women looking to work in the industry?

“GO FOR IT! Working in the tech industry has to be one of the most exciting spaces to work within currently and it provides so many opportunities for growth and development. Take every opportunity you are given and don’t be afraid to do something that scares you.”

“Alex Scott, not only a brilliant footballer but an advocate for Women’s football. It’s also great to see her disrupting a male dominated sport!”
